Lesson 8-Teaching with Contrived Experiences

In this chapter,we discuss contrived experiences. This substitutes of real things when it is not possible or practical to bring the real thing to the class. This includes models, mock ups, specimens, objects, simulation and games. They are designed to stimulate real life situations.
We use this models to make students close as we could to the real things they represent. There are lot of instances that we cannot let the students see the real images so we user mock ups to represent real things. For some reason also,we could not replicate the real things size and color so we must inform the learner by giving them the scale or presenting real objects on the same as you are presenting in your models.

Lesson 7-Direct Purposeful Experiences and Beyond

Direct purposeful experiences are concrete and firsthand experiences that make up the foundation of learning. This are the rich experiences that our senses bring from which we construct ideas and generalizations that give meaning and order to our lives. To imply this first hand experiences,we must do the following:

First we must  give students opportunities to learn by doing. This means that we must immerse the children in the world of experience.Make use of real things as instructional materials as long as we can.We must develop this senses and their imagination to fully heighten their sensitivity in the world. And as facilitator,we must draw meaning from the firsthand experiences and elevate their higher order thinking skills.

Learning Bank 6-Using and Evaluating Instructional Materials

As a teacher you must ensure your instructional materials serve there purpose in instruction. You must be sure to picture out your topic clearly,be consistent on the attainment of your goals and the lesson must appropriate to the child's learning abilities. As a teacher you must consider every little detail in your lesson to provide good lesson to your class.

Learning Bank 5-The Cone of Experience

This chapter discuss elements of this cone of experience.Of course as a teacher we must not use only one medium of instruction.Rather we may use variety of instructional materials to help students conceptualize his experience. We must strive to bring students to the symbolic or abstract level to develop their higher order thinking skills.

Learning Bank 4-Systematic Aprpoach to Teaching

  • This chapter is summing up the need on how to approach your learner. This is not the matter of how you present your lesson, but is your student interested enough to listen in your discussion. As a teacher you must take considerations of students needs and, interest, home background and each chis nature. If you are knowledgeable enough on those, you will mostly have the best methodologies, appropriate strategies and learning activities for the children.Surely you can catch there attention and concentration in your lesson, and you will get 100% participation from the class.

Learning Bank #3-The Rules of Educational Technology in Learning

>Technology serves as a medium of instruction. This is presenting what the learner should know and what he or she is learning. In any case an equipment or a tool in technology is useless if you merely let this deliver your instruction. You must let the students be involve in the learning process.Technology is important and useful if you use it with the participation and interaction from your students. This will prove that they learn something from your discussion.

Learning Bank 2-Technology:Boon or Bane?

1.What did I learned from lesson 2?
In lesson,it talks about the reflection about the technology,is it a boon or bane?Technology is a blessing to man.In technology there are lots of things we can do,which we cannot do then. However, when not use properly, technology becomes a detriment to learning and development. It can destroy relationships. In this,it only depends on how we use technology. If we use it to help our students and teachers then it would be a boon, but if we abuse it and misuse it to contribute to ruin our lives then it would be a curse or bane.

2.How can I apply it to my future as educator?
For me,to apply technology to let it be a boon, then I will use it for the good and for the benifet to everyone. We can use it to let the teachers and students to be caring, relating, good thinker, reflector, analyzer and good person then it would be a blessing to everyone.Technology contributes much to the improvement of the teaching learning process and the humanization of life.It is indeed a blessing. But when not used properly,it becomes a detriment to instruction and human progress and development.

1.What I learned from lesson 1?

In lesson 1,I learned more about Educational Technology.Educational technology is a broad term.It refers to the use of human inventions and discoveries to satisfy our educational need and desire to learn. These inventions and discoveries can be devices, tools, equipments, activities, procedures and processes.Included among this human inventions are the various educational media.Educational technology  is more than instructional technology in the same way that education is more than instruction.Technology integration is part of instructional technology which,in turn,is part of educational technology.Educational technology is a broad term which covers also a broad purposes to educate people in the community.

2.How I use what I learned in my future as a teacher?

Educational technology has a great help for me as a future educator. It has lots of uses like its term which is broad.Inventions of devices and tools would be a great help to make my discussions more presentable and effective on children's learning.Like for example, presenting a power point presentation in the class which I may include Pictures and videos to attract students and make there learning fun and enjoyable.Being a teacher is a a great responsibility because as what the say,a transformational leader.Teaching and learning can be more novel, stimulating, exciting, and engaging with the use of multimedia in the classroom.
